Hire well the first time. Getting the wrong person costs more than the fee.
It costs time, momentum, and often the confidence of the manager who made the call. We work with businesses across WA to make sure that does not happen.
We place people in permanent and contract roles across engineering, construction, mining services, manufacturing, and technology. We are not trying to carry 40 live jobs at once. We take on fewer roles, work them properly, and stay close to the client and candidate throughout the process.
If hiring keeps falling through, the process is usually the problem.
Most of the businesses we work with are not struggling because good candidates do not exist. They are struggling because their hiring process is too slow, the brief is not realistic, or they are not presenting the role in a way that attracts the right people.
WHAT WE DO
We handle the full recruitment process from role brief to accepted offer.
That includes advising on the brief itself, sourcing through our network and targeted channels, screening candidates properly, and managing the process so you are not chasing feedback or losing candidates to delays.
We work with businesses where one or more of these is happening:
- You have re-posted the same role on Seek two or three times with no result
- You are losing candidates to other offers because your process takes too long
- You are getting applications but they are consistently the wrong fit
- You need someone with a specialist background and do not have the network to find them
- You are growing quickly and need to hire several people without a dedicated recruiter
- You have a critical role to fill and cannot afford to get it wrong
Permanent placement
We place people in permanent roles across engineering, construction, mining services, manufacturing, and technology. We are not trying to carry 40 live jobs at once. We take on fewer roles, work them properly, and stay close to the client and candidate throughout the process. Most of our placements come through our network, not a job board.
Contract placement
We place contractors for project-based and fixed-term roles where businesses need experienced people for a defined period. We handle the sourcing and we are honest about what the market looks like and what it will take to attract the right person.
Recruitment health check
If your hiring is not working but you are not sure why, a recruitment health check is the right starting point. We review your process, your briefs, your EVP, and your decision-making, then tell you what needs to change.
Role brief & market advice
Before we start sourcing, we work through the brief with you. We will tell you if the role is realistic, what the market looks like for that kind of person, and what you need to offer to attract them. This is often where the problem gets fixed before it starts.
Employer value proposition
If your business is not selling itself well to candidates, we will tell you. We have seen too many roles fail because the ad led with a stocked fridge. We work with clients to understand what actually attracts people to their business and how to say it clearly.
Hiring manager support
We run practical training for hiring managers on interview technique, how to assess candidates properly, and how to move quickly without cutting corners. Available as a standalone session or as part of a broader recruitment engagement.
WHERE WE WORK
We focus on industries where the roles are technical, the talent pool is tight, and getting it wrong is expensive. These are the sectors we know well and where our network runs deep.
Engineering
Permanent and contract roles from site-based technical to senior management
Construction
Specialist trades through to project and commercial management
Mining services
Technical, operational, and management roles across WA’s resource sector
Manufacturing
Production, engineering, and operations across WA manufacturers
Technology
Engineering, IT, and technical roles across growing WA businesses
If hiring is not working, we can find out why.
We review your current recruitment process and give you an honest assessment of where it is breaking down and can give you a clear picture of what to fix.
What we look at:
- Role briefs: Are they realistic and are they attracting the right people
- Your hiring process: Where candidates are dropping off and why
- Decision-making: Who is involved and how quickly decisions get made
- Employer value proposition: How you are presenting the business to candidates
- Channels: Where you are advertising and whether it is the right approach
How we work
We are not trying to carry 40 live jobs at once. We take on fewer roles, work them properly, and stay close to the client and candidate throughout the process. That is intentional. It means every role gets proper attention and every client gets Nick, not a consultant who has just been handed a brief.
Who you’ll be working with
Nick has more than 30+ years’ recruitment experience across the UK and Australia, with deep networks across WA’s engineering, mining, energy, manufacturing and technical sectors.
He works directly with business owners and senior leaders to help them define the role properly, understand the market and secure people who can make a genuine impact.
His style is direct, practical and relationship-led.

“I would like to sincerely acknowledge the support provided by the Keystone People Solutions during my first job search in Australia. As I was new to the local job market, they offered valuable guidance throughout the recruitment process, including clear communication, timely feedback, and assistance in understanding workplace expectations and local HR policies. This helped me gain a clearer understanding of employment standards, workplace rights, and professional practices in Australia. Overall, the experience was positive and encouraging, and it played an important role in helping me successfully transition into my professional career in Australia.”

“Keystone came recommended to us in 2024 when our business required a comprehensive review, selection and implementation of a new HRIS. From the outset, they invested the time to understand our operational requirements and delivered a solution well-aligned to our needs.
At a stage where a full-time HR appointment was not warranted for our business, Keystone provided access to senior HR expertise on a flexible basis, ensuring continuity across our people function. As our organisation has matured, they have remained engaged to support the development and mentoring of our incoming HR team, facilitating a seamless transition.
Throughout the engagement, Keystone has served as a trusted advisor to our Senior Management team, consistently providing pragmatic, commercially - focused counsel. Given their established understanding of our business, the decision to engage their recruitment services was a natural one — their insight into our roles, culture and requirements consistently exceeded that of an external provider. We regard Keystone as a genuine HR partner and recommend them without reservation.”
